We pray something good will come from Ricky's death.

This is a page dedicated to Sister Rosemary's son Richard (Ricky) Thomas Knox .
He was into drugs, alcohol and Rock and Roll. A very dangerous combination.
We share a little about his life and artwork.
We hope and pray the sad lessons of his life will somehow help others.

If you need help or are feeling suicidal,
please call 1-800 SUICIDE.
Thank you!

The following copyrighted poem is posted here with permission from
an internet friend who also lost a son at about the same age as Ricky.

Desperate Acts

Of all the words unspoken,
And all the thoughts unthought,
Of all the hearts it's broken;
And all the pain it's brought.

It's hard to understand,
The final, desperate act,
They leave by their own hand;
And nothing brings them back.

The sorrow and the tears,
Envelop the heart and mind
Days and weeks and years,
And the memory still binds.

Who can know the reason?
Who can feel the pain?
Another time, another season,
Maybe sunshine instead of rain.

A perfect world would be,
That others share their pain;
Hope and love they'd see
Their life would be our gain.

Lord, in mercy judge each man,
Give peace to those who grieve;
Help us to understand,
The reasons that they leave.

Drugs & Alcohol prevents potential, wastes talents, and destroys lives.

1985
Ricky at our wedding April 20,1985.
Come to find out years later, he told us
he was high at our wedding......
High at his very own mother's wedding!!
Ricky gave this artwork he did, to his Mom (Sister Rosemary).
It was a few years before he passed away.

Mom's (that is Rosemary's)
recent realization!

This was done by my son Ricky Knox and one of a few pieces of art he did specifically for me, his mom.
It was Ricky's only way of expressing his love!

Drugs and Rock music took his life over.

Ricky couldn't hold down a steady job.
He lived with his girlfriend, the mother of his children.
At one point Ricky even questioned if his mother was really his mother.

Nothing wrong with adoption but yes she gave birth to him and raised him.
He once told us, if it wasn't for Rock music and pot, he would have to go on stronger drugs (that he had used in the past). We think he probably did anyway.
Unfortunately, as a result of drugs & rock music most of his drawings were occultic (Wizards, dragons, skeletons and other demonic style artwork). Because of our testimony and life he knew better then to give those style of pictures to us.

Ricky also liked to do tatoos.
I have noticed most (not all) tatoos have to do with lust and/or occultic darkness especially those tatoos that are more elaborate.

There is hope in Jesus Christ!
If you do not know Jesus Christ and have not had a personal powerful
life-changing experience in and through Jesus Christ, it is not too late
to ask Jesus to help you and give you meaning in life as well as victory over sin.

Believe upon Him, recognize that Jesus died on the Cross for our sins,
that His Blood cleanses you of all your sin,
that He resurrected and is alive praying in Heaven for you.
Repent of your sins, and begin your new joyous journey living for Jesus. We all had to come to God by the way of the Cross of Jesus Christ and repenting of our sins.

If you are already saved, Praise God for that and live your life to glorify God. Perhaps by living a life to glorify God, you will be able to lead someone to Jesus and prevent another tragedy.

Sometimes we discover God's mercy before it is too late.
Marlene is one of those blessed people to have been set
free when and because she discovered God's mercy and love.
Read her first poem, her testimony:
"Drugged and Delivered" at:
Words of Encouragement

Words of Encouragement
is built on
the compassion of Christ,
the conviction of His Word,
the challenge of His purpose,
and the continuity of His Kingdom.
